Jay-Z must be drinking. He was recently asked why he was AWOL at the “We are the World” remix thing for Haiti. His response? Get this: “I have a interesting take on that. I know everybody is gonna take this wrong: “We Are the World,” I love it, and I understand the point and think it’s great. But I think “We Are the World” is like “Thriller” to me. I don’t ever wanna see it touched.”
Jigga PUHLEEEEZE. Interesting take huh? You mean a HYPOCRITICAL take. This cat has sampled more classics than iTunes! Isn’t this the guy who routinely samples, slices, dices, and butchers every song he can get his mits on? Correct me if I’m wrong but he has built his empire on other people’s music. If San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (we’re told he had to surrender the “e” from his name because he had no “ethics”) gets his way, we’ll all have radiation stickers on our phones. Some little outfit who call themselves the “Federal Communications Commission” has already declared phones legally sold in the U.S. to be safe, but that aint stoppin’ ol’ Gavin and the gang. They are set to vote on the new legislation within a month or two!
So has Gavin turned a new life leaf? Is he really worried about folks growing smurfs on their ears? Maybe. But our money says it’s more likely GaVAIN is just l (more…)
